Michael Vore, better known as Mike, has been involved with woodworking off and on since his early days helping his father build boats, and then sailing in them
on the Chesapeake Bay. Nearing retirement he became a more active woodworker, with a few serious woodworking projects.
After his retirement Mike became fascinated with woodturning, especially vessels - bowls, and hollow forms. His first class was at a local Woodcraft store, then studying with well known wood artists; Ray Key
at the Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, Cindy Drozda at Md. Hall, and David Ellsworth at both his home studio and at The Anderson Ranch Arts Center in
Snowmass Colorado.
Mike has displayed some of his works at the Quiet Waters Park, Annapolis, Md. and Montpelier Mansion, Laurel, Md. and in the Howard County Fair for the past few years and has earned ribbons each year. Most notably Boxes and Hollow Forms.
