Decorative Cherry Burl Bowl ![]() This Cherry Burl Bowl is meant to decorate your mantle-piece or art shelf. It could hold some fruit, but the unique qualities of this work are just begging for the bowl to be picked up and examined. As the case of most burls, there are many voids and cracks. The bottom (not shown) has many darker areas, the result of it's position on the tree. It was turned from a black Cherry tree that grew in Western Maryland.. Dimensions:
Ash Salad Bowl ![]() This ASH bowl is just right for serving a salad for that small dinner party. It is 11" in diameter and stands 3" high. This will hold enough salad for 4 or 5 servings. Ambrosia Maple Bowl
Trees are always under attack from bugs and beetles, as well as by kids building tree-houses and tree trimmers cutting limbs for firewood. When beetles get into the wood they leave some tell-tail dammage, the 'ambrosia' beetle's damage is marked by dark streaks in the wood, sometimes red but often times the color is more brownish. .
